About The Poverty Project
Our Story
We are a youth-led organization based in Ontario, that aims to diminish poverty from a youth perspective. Started by two friends who witnessed an increase in poverty and insecurity, they wanted to find real solutions to help their community. The Poverty Project provides effective solutions for local issues through awareness campaigns, fundraisers, and events. We understand how poverty is impacted by several factors and can be lessened by community efforts. We want to educate people in difficult situations and understand that strategic efforts must be made to promote change.
Our Mission
We believe that everyone deserves a chance to live a dignified life, so using our resources, we want to provide everyone with the support to come out of poverty. We are dedicated to decreasing the national and global poverty rate and preventing future impoverishment by providing people who are struggling with basic necessities such as food, water, and clothing. We also know that the youth are our future, so we aim to uplift people through education, and with the help of our volunteers, hope to help eliminate poverty.
